Let it snow!
Left: Linden helping himself to a little treat .. snow ... yes I made sure it wasn't yellow!
Top Right: Just proving the unbelievable snow fall!
With all the snowfall comes trouble ... the snow was so wet that it caused a lot of trees to fall .. I had one fall across the driveway .. one fall 5 ft from Ryan's truck and about 30 others snapping all around the yard! Perfect weekend for Ryan to be gone not to mention my parents! Yep, Linden and I were all alone on Friday night ... can you say freaked-out! As everyone knows I HATE being by myself .. I know I know .. Holly you're 30 (okay 31) years old .. you gotta get over it! Well my friends ... I will get over this fear when they find a medication that can help ... now I want to make one thing clear .. Linden thinks that I'm not scared of anything .. well maybe snakes .. but not the fear of the dark .. when he tells me he sees ghost and they scare him .. I just laugh and say ghost are nice they won't hurt you .. I play the strong, nothing will hurt you when I'm around Mom ... if he only knew that the more he talks about ghosts the more I'm crying inside ....
Anyways .. more problems with the heavy snow and trees snapping .. NO POWER ... yes from 3pm until 2am we had no power .. it's quite sad how much we depend on power ... no lights, heat, fridge, stove, dishwasher, washer, dryer, washroom, phones (thank goodness for the faithful cell phone) COMPUTER and on and on!!!! Now you're probably wondering how the biggest scaredy-cat dealt with the no lights being home by herself issue .. well it's simple .. it was my annual sleep-over with my team this weekend at our house .. so I got to sit in the dark with 9 other people. It was a lot of fun .. we played cranium by candle light ... we ate by candle light (you can see in the pic .. Linden and the girls at his little picnic table) .... everyone even went to the washroom in candle light .. we did a whole lotta talking and learned a lot about each other .. I think it was a successful "team building" weekend.
Once again I have to be sooo thankful for my parents .. they got home Sunday afternoon and before they even unloaded their truck my Dad was on the quad plowing the driveway and he then filled my wood boiler, cleaned up all the fallen trees etc .. my Mother-in-law calls and asks if she can bring over some homemade stew for all of us so that me or Mom don't have to cook ... so thoughtful .... then myMom made a nice light dessert and did some cleaning for me .. not to mentioned looked after Linden so I could get some groceries without my little helper .. who adds things to the cart .. such as jelly-beans! Family is the best!
It's sooo nice to have the power back .. I feel bad for a lot of people here in hooterville .. they are still without power .. so over 24 hours ! In a little town just west of here .. Burns Lake .. they got 4 feet of snow and still don't have power today .. poor people .. it's kinda like a mini-disaster .... people keep calling into the radio to tell their stories .. sad!
Linden story: Linden is flinging his fishing rod around the house and hits Brody .. I give him a timeout after 1 warning ... then he is sitting on the floor, playing nicely, pretending to fish .. he accidentally hits me when he's casting .. I say to him .. "Linden you just hit me" he replies with the sweetest confused voice " Nope, I don't think I did Momma" ....... good times !

That's a lot of snow! It's nice to look at but I don't envy you. Hopefully we have some for Christmas
I am so glad my yard doesn't look like that YET (I know it's coming). It appears that your big guy likes the snow -mine stands frozen in place and screams.
Glad the girls were with you overnight. Toddler can't wait to play in all that snow...can you keep it til Christmas?
It makes me glad to be not living in the North. I hated shoveling the driveway and waiting for the truck to heat up. Husband even had to mow the grass last weekend and we still have some flowers in the backyard. What a difference 10 hours makes.
I'm glad your sleepover was a hit! I'm with you on the family thing - don't know what I would do without them!
